‘Kraków – Occupation Period 1939–1945’

Czas okupacji Krakowa 1939-1945

The ‘Kraków – Occupation Period 1939–1945’ exhibition shows the history of Kraków and its inhabitants during the Second World War. The tale of Oskar Schindler and the Kraków Jews rescued by him is a part of the exhibition. During the war, Oskar Schindler's Enamelware Factory operated here. After the war, it was nationalised and in its place were factories producing electro-technical components. Thus, the original contents of the factory halls – the machinery and equipment – have not been preserved. The objects related to the manufacture of enamelled kitchenware displayed in the museum's hall come from the Enamelware Factory in Olkusz, where parts of ‘Schindler's List’ (1993) were filmed.
