The Renaissance residence of the Branicki family (the so-called ‘lamus’) is an elegant building with defensive qualities. Its framework probably dates back to the beginning of the 16th century, when it served as a defensive and residential tower. It acquired its present shape around 1603, and the expansion of the residence is attributed to Jan Branicki (d. 1611), the starost of Niepołomice. The building was erected on a rectangular floor plan (approx. 12 x 10 m). The tower has a tripartite cellar with a barrel vault. On the ground floor, built of bricks in the Polish layout, there is an entrance hall with stairs to the first floor and a large chamber with a barrel vault with lunettes.
