The Memorial Hall (so-called Hall of Bar Confederates) is dedicated to the Bar Confederation, the first Polish national liberation uprising against the partitioning states. It was established in 2006 as part of the ‘Bar Confederates Trail’ in the Lanckorona area. Part of the exhibition, situated in the right-hand part of the room, is devoted to the castle and the so-called ‘Lanckorona fortress’. In the centre of the room, on the west wall hangs a photocopy of a painting by the famous 19th-century Polish painter, Artur Grottger, ‘Modlitwa konfederatów barskich przed bitwą pod Lanckoroną’ (‘Prayer of the Bar Confederates Before the Battle of Lanckorona’), referring to the battle of 23 May 1771. To the left, on the eastern wall is a corner dedicated to the most famous confederate commander and future hero of the United States of America – Kazimierz Pułaski. The south-west corner introduces images and biographies of the heroes of the events in the Lanckorona area. Beneath Grottger’s painting are scans of documents relating to the local confederates, and in the corner of the room you can see the route of the ‘Bar Confederates Trail’.
