The Church of the Transfiguration, Jurków

Church of the Transfiguration and Divine Mercy is Jurków’s most valuable monument. It was built close to the route leading to Sącz and further to Hungary. The small wooden church dates to before 1578. Its existence is mentioned in the visitations carried out in 1596, 1747, and 1773. The church was renovated in 1856 and consecrated 15 years later. It is a one-nave log church with boarding. Its interior is decorated with a 17th-century main altar with a 16th-century painting of Christ bearing the cross, two wings of a triptych from around the mid-15th century, and two 18th-century side altars.
