Nowy Wiśnicz
The town is located in the Bochnia district, in the commune of Nowy Wiśnicz. The history of this charming townlet dates back to the 12th century. In the town, the urban arrangement from the times of the granting of a charter has been maintained. The main tourist attraction of the town is the magnificent Baroque castle. The town is associated with the outstanding Polish painter, Jan Matejko. Here, there is a wooden manor called “Koryznówka”, where there is the museum of memorabilia of the artist. It is worth to visit the Museum of Wiśnicz Land, next to which there is the monument of Juliusz Kossak, born and baptised in Nowy Wiśnicz.
