Established in 1966, the theatre is inseparably associated with its founder Krzysztof Jasiński, who has managed it until today.

It is a real sensation in the world of Polish theatre. For many years, STU was a “theatre on the road”. It looked for its identity and place on Earth. It wandered around the world, performing in over 20 countries on four continents. In 1975, it became a formally professional theatre, but it has retained the independence and special climate of an alternative theatre.
