One of Krakow’s youngest sanctuaries is located at the exit road toward Warsaw. The church built in the 1980s and owned by the Albertine Sisters is a place of worship of St. Albert, also known in Poland as Saint Brother Albert, Adam Chmielowski, and of Blessed Bernardina, the founder of the Albertine Sisters’ Order.
The church features a beautiful painting of the crucified Christ, Ecce Homo, painted by Brother Albert. The relics of Saint Albert and Blessed Bernardina are held here. The feast day of St. Albert falls on June 17, while the feast day of Blessed Bernardina on September 22. The Albertine church celebrates the Friday before Palm Sunday in a particularly solemn way, during the annual festival of the Ecce Homo Christ.
