Sokolica (747 m above sea level) is the second most popular tourist destination in the Pieniny Mountains after the Three Crowns.
Vertical rock walls built of hard corneal limestone descend down the faults into the Dunajec river flowing at the foot of the mountain more than three hundred meters below its peak. There are relict pines at the top of Sokolica. The panorama of the Pieniny Mountains from the metal viewing platform on the Sokolica peak is second to none, you can also see the Tatra Mountains and the Small Pieniny from there. Admission to the peak is paid. You can find here the trails from Krościenko and from Szczawnica, which furtherly lead to the Three Crowns mountain range.
