Antoni Kocyan Kuźnice

Antoni Kocyan (1836–1916) was a zoologist, a forester and one of the most renowned researchers of fauna in the Tatra Mountains, who created the first collection of fauna thanks to having learned how to prepare zoological specimens. His scientific research and dermoplastic specimens are a great resource of knowledge about the Tatra fauna and have contributed to the preservation of many valuable species. Kocyan’s collections can be seen in many museums in the Polish and Slovak Podtatrze region.
