Bobowa

Mały, murowany kościół wśród drzew.
In 1240, the then village was attacked by the Tatars. Damages were rebuilt and in 1339 Ladislaus I of Poland established in those areas a town based on the Magdeburg rights. Due to its location on the trade route to Hungary, handicraft, particularly weaving and lace-making, developed there dynamically, hence the famous “bobbin lace of Bobowa”. It is worth to visit the All Saints’ Church from the 14th century, with the painting by Jacek Malczewski. In the building of a manor from the 17th century, the high school is currently located and the old synagogue is a remembrance of the Hasidim. The grave of Tzadik Solomon ben Nathan Halberstam annually attracts pilgrimages of the faithful from all over the world.
