All Saints’ Church, Dąbrowa Tarnowska

Inside the structure are five Baroque-Rococo altars, four confessionals, and an organ. All these elements date from the time of the church’s construction, the late 18th century. The rich and colourful polychromy made in 1889 by the Tarnów painter Jakub Gucwa is ornamental and figural in character. The walls were decorated with a stencilled ornament (so-called ‘ornament tapetowy’, lit. ‘wallpaper ornament’) set against a green background. There are two large scenes on the ceiling of the nave: the Adoration of the Shepherds and Angels, associated with the Nativity, and the Transfiguration. In the corners of the ceiling, you can see Old-Testament figures: Zachariah and Elizabeth, David and Bathsheba (above the choir). On the side wall of the nave, to the right above the arcade, are Polish saints: Bishop Stanisław Szczepanowski, Queen Kinga, Stanisław Kostka. An image of St. Anthony was placed between the side altars of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Anthony.
