Statues of Saints by the Collegiate Church Biecz

A crossroads sits at the western entrance to Biecz. One of the roads, Grunwaldzka Street, once led to the hilltop Biecz castle., Bochniewicza Street led to the gallows, where the executioner carried out death sentences. On the retaining wall around the Corpus Christi Collegiate Church are 13 figures from the second half of the 19th century made of Pińczów stone and depicting saints. They were funded by pilgrims from Hungary and various personages from around Biecz. In order, from the south-east (from Januszewicz Street) are: St. Matthias, St. Paul, St. Peter, St. Andrew, St. James the Great, St. John, St. Philip, St. Bartholomew, St. Thomas, St. Matthew, St. James the Younger, St. Thaddeus, St. Simon.
