The tavern is the largest wooden building in the Dobczyce open-air museum. It dates from 1830 and was moved from Krzyszkowice near Myślenice. Taverns were a place for travellers to rest, a place to meet for a chat, hold village meetings and sometimes weddings and christenings. This was accompanied by plenty of alcohol. It is worth noting, that Małopolska law stated that one could drink away their jacket, shirt, or cap but the innkeeper was not allowed to accept lower garments payment.
