MSIT – destination Małopolska!

MSIT also means tourist signage that makes it easier to move about Małopolska and explore its most beautiful corners.

The project involved the creation of:

  • 69 information boards located by the region’s main tourist attractions,
  • 18 information boards in car parks by national roads,
  • 275 tourist road signs by the main provincial and district roads.

    MSIT – read about Małopolska!

Each Tourist Information point offers various free printed materials (including tourist maps of the province) in a number of language versions that promote Małopolska’s tourist offer.

    • 18 titles,
    • 7 language versions,
    • more than 1,000 photographs,
    • detailed tourist maps,
    • a multimedia guide to Małopolska.

    MSIT – disabled friendly!

The largest TI units (Kraków, Oświęcim, Wadowice, Nowy Sącz, Zakopane, Tarnów) feature special posts for disabled visitors that are fitted with specialist equipment, enabling disabled visitors to independently browse and collect the materials that they are interested in, for instance in the form of printouts or MP3 recordings.

TI units offer printed materials for blind and visually impaired visitors. Unique Braille materials were prepared, as well as CDs with audio postcards including special binaural recordings that give an illusion of being and moving around the recorded space. Visually impaired visitors can take advantage of the large print “Catalogue of Małopolska’s Greatest Tourist Attractions”.

It is the first project of this kind in Europe, and it will make it possible for blind and visually impaired persons to explore Małopolska and discover its greatest tourist attractions.

    MSIT – available 24/7!

The tourist web portal www.visitmalopolska.pl is a source of reliable and up-to-date tourist information about Małopolska. Visitmalopolska.pl has gathered local tourist web portals of the project partners and the existing websites about Małopolska’s tourist offer.

One address – one source of information!

Tourist seeking information about Małopolska can also take advantage of a network of info kiosks (open 24/7) located in 16 cities: Kraków, Tarnów, Wadowice, Oświęcim, Zakopane, Nowy Sącz and Olkusz, Miechów, Dąbrowa Tarnowska, Chrzanów, Poronin, Nowy Targ, Rabka-Zdrój, Krynica-Zdrój, Limanowa, Biecz.

MSIT – an integrated digital system!

Tourist information units are connected by an IT system aimed at gathering, processing and making available tourist data with the use of the latest technologies. As a result, information officers in the TI points have full access to common databases that are systematically developed and updated. The system also makes it possible to collect data pertaining to tourist traffic in Małopolska.
