Małopolskie Centre for the Sound and the Word in Niepołomice (MCDiS) is a comprehensive cultural, educational, leisure and training facility. Among other things, it contains:
– the Event Hall with 220 seats. In addition to a professional sound and lighting system, the hall is equipped with top-quality audio and video recording equipment. It also has comprehensive backstage facilities with technical rooms and spacious dressing rooms for artists and performers.
– a recording studio established for the in-house use of the Małopolskie Centre for the Sound and the Word has opened up more and more to the outside world over time. Nowadays, it has a substantial amount of audio and video production equipment. The studio specialises in live recordings in the specially designed event hall. Everything is in a single place –lights, cameras and sound.
Workshop halls occupying 280 m2 in total. The largest of them is a ‘mirror’ hall occupying 150 m2, air-conditioned and with a beautiful viewing terrace. It is used on a daily basis as part of the MCDiS Artistic Workshops.
Phonography Museum – seven exhibition rooms display the history of phonography. Passing through successive rooms, we can see the now-forgotten devices for sound reproduction, learn about their history and development, and have a chance to experience the atmosphere of the bygone time.
MCDiS cinema is the first one in the whole Wielicki district (powiat) after a break of many years. It has 60 seats. The room is equipped with a professional digital projector and Dolby Digital 5.1. sound system.
The Music Club invites everyone to its cosy and stylish interior. A well-stocked bar, excellent coffee and good music will soothe your nerves and allow you to regenerate. It is worth mentioning that music in the club is played exclusively from vinyl records. The ‘Pod Pretekstem’ (Under the Pretext) club also holds numerous concerts and events.
