The exhibition in the Chochołów Uprising Museum is dedicated to an important episode in the history of Chochołów, the 1846 uprising known as ‘poruseństwo’. Established in 1978, the Chochołów Uprising Museum is located in a historical cottage, once owned by a wealthy farmer, Jan Bafia. Bafia’s cottage is typical of Podhale architecture: it is built of square logs, has an entrance hall, a ‘black’ room, a ‘white’ room, a pantry, and a storage space above the pantry.
