The building was originally used as a blacksmith’s shop. Over time, oil-pressing equipment was added and the furnace was rebuilt with a flat boiler for roasting linseed and a small water cauldron. The wooden oil press with screws is a unique item. The horizontal block with a container for crushed roasted linseed comes from another, older oil mill. Linseed oil was commonly used in the countryside for food, especially during Advent and Lent, and as a medicine.
