The windmill was built in the 1920s by a foreman from Muchówka, near Bochnia. It mainly served the needs of its own farm, and during and immediately after the war it was also used by the residents of Kanina and neighbouring villages. It is a wooden building, planked vertically and with a gabled roof covered with wooden shingles. The windmill is set on a fixed base with an octagonal pivot, which allows it to be turned depending on the direction of the wind. It has six rectangular blades. Windmills did not appear in the Sącz region until the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In this area, it was common to build mills powered by the falling water of mountain streams.
