Stanisław Klimowski Room

Sala o białych ścianach, na których wiszą zdjęcia i czerwonej ceglanej podłodze. Na podłodze stoi armata i wieszaki z dwoma mundurami.

The exhibition consists of works by the artist with a strong connection to the lands of Wiśnicz, painter Stanisław Klimowski, who worked from 1909 to 1982. He painted portraits, nudes, landscapes, urban landscapes, flowers and still lifes. However, portraits were the core form in which his talent manifested itself. Realism and the aesthetics instilled by Klimowski's academic teachers (Jacek Malczewski, Teodor Axentowicz and Konstanty Laszczka) with the necessity of realistic form and meticulous detail as synonyms of perfection and correctness was the starting point for all his artistic endeavours. In addition to people, picturesque parts of Wiśnicz with its old buildings painted in different seasons of the year as well as landscapes presenting areas close to the town were the artist’s never-ending source of inspiration. He also painted religious paintings and sculpted.
