Chapel, Nowy Wiśnicz Castle

Wnętrze bogato zdobionej kaplicy.

The early Baroque chapel with an apse was erected in the times of Stanisław Lubomirski and covered with a dome featuring a stone lantern. Illusionistic paintings from the 1st half of the 17th century displaying architectural and ornamental motifs have been preserved on the vault and pilasters. On the western side is a two-storey choir with reconstructed stuccowork on the first floor, associated with the workshop of Giovanni Battista Falconi. The basement of the chapel houses a crypt with the preserved sarcophagi of the castle's owners from the Lubomirski family.
