Room with Vessels, Nowy Wiśnicz Castle

Srebrne naczynia na półkach.

An exhibition of brass and copper vessels and silver-plated articles from the turn of the 20th century. These are both useful and decorative handicrafts from court and bourgeois kitchens. The exhibits include a 19th-century ice-cream thermos, wine bottles, a bed warmer and famous and highly prized samovars for brewing tea, made in Tula, Russia, including a unique 50-litre military samovar. Components of a silver-plated tableware set from the same period are on display in the 19th-century sideboard. Signatures inscribed on some of the objects point to two significant Warsaw workshops: one belonging to Wincenty Norblin and another to Józef Fraget.
