Maiden's Room, Hipolit House, Kraków

The painting by an unknown painter depicts a landscape with a mountain range dominating the foreground. In the centre is a small meandering river, and on the right side, a country boy sits on an enormous rock. Farther on are fields and a mountain range rises on the horizon. The painting's colours consist of delicate tones of green, ash, and blue. It is an example of a romantic landscape whose author searched for monumentalism in the areas around Kraków. On the bottom right is the author's signature: W. Winkler. On the back, he wrote in ink: ‘Rocks in Bolechowice near Kraków, as a souvenir for Dear Henryk Drow Sokołowski Winkler’.
