The inn currently known at the ‘Rzym’ inn was located in its current place even around 1719. It is also mentioned in the ‘Inwentarz’ of 1775 as a ‘freehold drive-in’ inn. It is a leading example of the old small-town architecture referring directly to the tradition of the highland folk architecture. It is a timber building covered with a shingled hip roof with a characteristic ridge. It attracts attention with its symmetrical, carefully composed ground plan and equally carefully developed arcaded front elevation. The elaborate arcades are a characteristic feature of Polish inns. The ‘Rzym’ inn differs from other such building with its lack of outbuildings such as stables for horses. Its current appearance is the result of the conservation work done in 1963-64.
