The exhibition titled ‘The Oldest Settlements in the Skawa Valley’ offers a review of archaeological discoveries made during the research conducted in the area assigned for flooding with the water from the Świnna Poręba Reservoir (Macharskie Lake). These discoveries have completely transformed our views about the nature and dynamics of the prehistoric and early medieval settlements in this part of the Western Beskids. Almost the entire area was considered a settlement void before. Today, we have evidence of the human activity in many historical periods.
