The Painted Village is not a museum – it is an imaginative village painted with human creativity; the owners of the flowery homesteads work there on a daily basis. Among the scattered buildings of Zalipie you can find about 40 painted homesteads, some of which are made available to tourists if their owners can do so. A visit will undoubtedly be made easier by the map of the village, which is displayed on information boards by the Painters’ House and the parish church. Marked there are all the painted buildings and the aforementioned accessible homesteads, as well as the must-see places in Zalipie.
