Hallway, Sabała’s Cottage, Zakopane

The large hallway contains an entrance with stone stairs leading to the cellar, which is also lined with stones. It initially had a chute on the side next to the road through which potatoes could be delivered into the cellar. The entrance was closed with a trapdoor. Next to it are the stairs leading to a vast attic, further on is the entrance to the dairy and a whitewashed chimney with an opening to the bread oven. The hallway was a utility room where querns, firewood, , carpentry tools and water kept in huge barrels were kept.
