The castle in Czorsztyn has a very rich history. In 1909, a medieval sword from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries was found in the castle cellar. The double-edged, two-handed sword measuring 132 cm in length was forged from a single piece of iron. It was originally exhibited in the park pavilion in Czorsztyn, and is now in the Tatra Museum. In the eastern wall of the castle is an entrance to the cellar. The vaulted cellar with a narrow window facing the courtyard is today’s lapidarium, where fragments of lintels, portals, and columns found during restoration work have been collected.
