Anna Pawlak’s Cottage

Drewniana chałupa widziana z boku.

It is a wide-front log cottage typical in Orawa, with a hip roof covered with straw and shingles. It comes from the second half of the 19th century. The exceptionally low entrance is notable. According to the information obtained from its last owners, the cottage initially only had a black room, a chamber behind it and a hallway shared with a neighbouring cottage located on the other side. With time, the building was moved further and the hallway was boarded, a white room, an attic and ‘przedwysce’ were added. On the side wall of the projection in the front elevation is a shallow engraved date ‘R 1913 Juli 17’, which is probably the date when the reconstruction was completed.
