Zązel Cottage, Kitchen

The other rooms consist of a small chamber where various useful appliances were usually kept and a kitchen with a stove featuring a built-in bronze cauldron for water. There is another room behind the kitchen that can be accessed through the wide double-leaf door. In the kitchen is a crossbeam with 1831 carved into it but this is most likely a fragment of another cottage built into the new one. In the white room is a crossbeam with the following inscription: ‘Pobłogosław Ten Dom Panie i Zachowaj od ognia Św. Florianie Fundator Morong Albin I Genowefa Zona Dnia 10 Lipca 1930 r.’ (Bless This House Lord and Save it from Fire St. Florian Founder Morong Albin and Genowefa the Wife on 10 July 1930). This is the likely construction date of this house. The furnishings are typical of cottages from the inter-war period.
