Courtyard, Museum – Orawa Ethnographic Park

The main entrance to the manor house was in the front (where the well and the slope cellar are visible) while the door in use today used to lead to a courtyard surrounded by the pigsty (a reconstruction), a cart house, stables, cowsheds with utility buildings (19th century), a sheepfold (the date on the lintel: 1814) and an outhouse. The place that used to be full of noise made by animals looks captivatingly modest and dignified today. No wonder then that it has featured in several films (not only this location). Productions filmed in our open-air museum include ‘Janosik’ by Jerzy Passendorfer (1974), ‘Ród Gąsieniców’ by Konrad Nałęcki (1978) and ‘Ogniem i Mieczem’ by Jerzy Hoffman (1997-1998) as well as many others such as the Polish-Australian-Chinese series ‘W Krainie Smoków’ and various features, documentaries and educational films with stars such as Jerzy Bińczycki, Joanna Brodzik, Edmund Fetting, Marian Dziędziel, Wiesław Gołas, Gustaw Holoubek, Marek Kondrat, Bogusław Linda, Wojciech Malajkat, Marek Perepeczko, Jan Peszek, Franciszek Pieczka, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Wiktor Zborowski and Michał Żebrowski.
