The mill was refurbished in 1950s and its furnishings was replaced with factory equipment. The sawmill was constructed at that time and was fitted with a modern internal combustion engine. Such a symbiosis was well-known in Podhale and Orawa. Almost 40 percent of sawmills were combined with other workshops. The saw (called a ‘gater’) on display here does not come from Chyżne but its appearance and operation is very similar to the original one.
