It is the only homestead in the open-air museum in which the residential building, the utility building and the gate comprise a partially closed system. This 1930 homestead comes from Zubrzyca Górna.
Świetlak’s, Joanna Moniak’s and Czarniak’s homesteads are currently used for educational events we have been held since 2001.
In addition to repeatable events such as ‘From Grain to Bread’ or ‘How It Was with Flax’, there are also temporary exhibitions focusing on various customs and beliefs related to the traditional calendar and seasons of the year. Most events take place in these historical homesteads of Orawa, located at about 10 minutes’ distance from the entrance to the museum, having no contemporary comforts and inventions present, equipped with objects that were commonly used once. Thanks to these events the buildings come alive with laughter, singing and work or dance of the young and old participants, all of them equally fascinated by the past. Thanks to the work of experienced and committed educators, the participants not only learn about old village life but also to be responsible for their work, develop manual skills and, last but not least, have a great time!
