Morskie Oko Hotel was built after villa Jadwinówka, where Stanisław Witkiewicz had his first studio in Zakopane and which was there before, burnt.

Although the body of the building is not very attractive, the interior of the theatre hall which can accommodate 200 people was designed by Witkiewicz. The curtain which depicts Morskie Oko is worthy of note. In the Young Poland period cultural and social life in Zakopane was concentrated here.
