Krościenko is also the terminus of the Dunajec Gorge rafting trip. It is one of the few places in the world where awhite water river runs through the mountainsas dramatically as this one does. According to legend, it wasn't the Dunajec River that sliced its way through the Pieniny Mountains, but Bolesław Chrobry, who used his sword to hack through the mountain landscape.... On the other hand, the mineral springs found on the right bank of the Dunajec River, at Zawodzie at the foot of Stajkowa Mountain, are a work of nature. They treat diseases of the respiratory tract, and digestive system as well as haemorrhages.

The rugged Pieniny Mountains, with the Pieniny National Park, are a jewel among the Carpathian mountain ranges. The VeloDunajec cycling route, one of the most picturesque and attractive cycling paths in Poland, runs along this route.

And it is worth mentioning that Krościenko – which was founded as early as in the 14th century – can also boast some remarkable foundations and monuments. These include the well-preserved layout of the medieval Market Square, the characteristic Pieniny buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the All Saints' Church from the 14th century with perfectly preserved frescoes. There is also a lot going on here - in June, there is Wianki na Dunajcu (Midsummer Night); in July - Krościenko Fair and Biesiada and Dunajcem; in July and August - Krościenko Summer...  One could go on like this for so long.

Of course, at the Tourist Information Point in Krościenko nad Dunajcem, you can ‘get’ free guides, folders, leaflets, maps, and plans in several languages. The PIT staff will tell you about local and regional sights, trails, attractions and events, and suggest where to eat and stay comfortably. The PIT also cooperates with local, regional and national institutions.

It is also worth looking at the website of the Centre for Culture and Promotion in Krościenko nad Dunajcem. There you will find plenty of information about what is worth visiting  in the town and region. There is also the most up-to-date information, special publications and multimedia, including smartphone apps, interactive maps, quests and films.

The PIT is located in the historic vicarage building that houses the Regional Chamber.  It is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

The Tourist Information Point in Krościenko nad Dunajcem is run by the Centre for Culture and Promotion.  It also belongs to the Małopolska Tourist Information System.
