Szwedzka kolumna Kamionna

Swedish Column Kamionna

Wysoki obelisk z kapliczka na szczycie z rosnącym obok drzewem.

Kamionna 58, 32-732 Kamionna Tourist region: Pogórza

The obelisk is one of the attractions located in the commune of Trzciana in the picturesque village of Kamionna. The monument commemorates the victory of the army of Prince Jerzy Lubomirski over the Swedes.
The number of troops participating in the battle has never been precisely determined. According to a few accounts, it was not very spectacular, however, Prince Jerzy Sebastian Lubomirski - the Grand Crown Marshal decided to erect the monument to commemorate the victorious skirmish. The obelisk was getting more and more abandoned through the subsequent centuries but it was finally renovated by the local government of the commune. The Swedish Column in Kamionna, sometimes referred to as the Swedish Figure in Kamionna, is a 10-meter obelisk which is topped with an openwork lantern with a pyramidal roof and a cross. Inside the lighthouse there is a sculpture of Pensive Christ.
