The Fryderyk Vineyard was founded in 2009 in Libertów on the threshold of the Wieliczka Foothills.
The vineyard came about as a result of looking for a way to manage an area of good, fertile land with a low-demand crop that would be responsive in the hands of professionals. Vines fitted in with the overall concept, and it became clear over time that although viticulture was complex and demanding, it was also an excellent adventure.
The first planting of 250 vines was made on the basis of cuttings from the Eden Vineyard nursery in Łazy Brzyńskie near Stary Sącz and included  Rondo, Regent, Bianca, Riesling, Siegerebe varieties and dessert varieties such as: Kodrianka and Swenson Red for ongoing consumption. Ten years later, the vineyard expanded by another 150 vines; this time, the cuttings (Seval blanc, Muskat Odeski and Jutrzenka) came from Jasło, from the Golesz Vineyard of Roman Myśliwiec, the guru of Polish winemaking.
