Jerzmanowice – Przeginia Commune
Przeginia
Tourist region: Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska
Limestone monadnocks, deep valleys, mysterious caves, chequered meadows, fields and forests create a unique atmosphere and enchant with their charm. This Jurassic landscape is crisscrossed by numerous hiking, cycling, Nordic walking and horse riding trails as well as thematic trails and paths, such as the Małopolska Geotourism Trail, the Wooden Architecture Route or the 'Jaskinia Dolina' Educational Trail. All the attractions encourage active tourism and the discovery of unknown corners.
The Parish Church of St. Bartholomew the Apostle in Jerzmanowice is well worth a visit. The founder of the first wooden temple was King Casimir the Great. The present brick church was consecrated in 1884 after 57 years of construction. Many valuable elements of the earlier furnishings have been preserved, including the historic baptismal font and the two side altars.
The Jerzmanowice – Przeginia Commune was the winner of the 2021 Małopolska Tourist Treasures competition in the Atmospheric Place category.
