The house accommodated the editorial office of the most important cultural and literary magazine of Young Poland – “Życie”.
In 1898, the magazine published a series of articles entitled “Young Poland”, which was one of the earliest programme manifests of the new era and from which its name is derived. The magazine published articles by, inter alia, S. Wyspiański (art director of the magazine), K. Przerwa-Tetmajer, J. Kasprowicz, Lucjan Rydel.
