The church was built around 1318 in the Gothic style and gained its present Baroque form after an extension in 1627, when a sacristy, a chapel called 'Kurowska', and possibly a tower were built. In 1557-1575, the village owner, Sebastian Wielogłowski, used the church as an Arian church. It is Gothic with Baroque transformations, built of stone and plaster. It consists of a nave and a narrower, rectangular chancel. A chapel has been added to the north, a small porch to the south, and a square, low tower to the westof the nave. Buttresses frame the exterior of the church. A baroque crucifix from the 18th century hangs on the east wall of the chancel. A gable roof with a lanterned bell turret of Baroque form covers the nave. There are lower triple-pitched roofs over the chancel and chapel and a pent roof over the vestry. The church has two modest Gothic pointed arched portals and one leading into the chapel. The portals are also Gothic, stepped, of the so-called 'długoszowski type', with rich cascading, apparently transferred from the Church of St Mary Magdalene. The fourth portal is a Renaissance portal closed with a semicircle and dates from 1627. The building was erected in the early 14th century and acquired Baroque features after being rebuilt in the 17th century. Inside, visitors can see the 19th-century classicist main altar with a painting of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1855 as well as Renaissance and Baroque side altars and an early Baroque baptistery. The church is surrounded by a park.
