The Municipal Museum in Tuchów takes visitors on a journey through time. Those who take the tour will learn about the history of the Tuchów region, famous families, as well as the old life and equipment of their ancestors. The museum has managed to collect several thousand artefacts, which are valuable donations from local residents and people connected with the town, much of it from the family of folk artist and traveller Tadeusz Radwan.
The museum was opened in 2013, marking the culmination of Tuchów's 670th anniversary of its municipal rights. The idea was to show the ethnographic diversity and heritage of the Tuchów area. The journey leads through five exhibition rooms, In the ethnographic room, one can admire objects of everyday use as well as tools related to various crafts, and there is a room dedicated to the inhabitants and history of Tuchów. Last but far from least is a room dedicated to the collected militaria, photographs, documents and objects dedicated to the events of the Second World War. In the ‘Barbara’ Battalion room, you can see memorabilia related to the partisan warfare waged by the 1st Battalion of the 16th Battalion. An infantry Regiment of the Home Army, ‘Barbara’ operated in the Tuchów area. In the Tadeusz Radwan Hall, temporary exhibitions are presented, and meetings, lessons, and historical symposia are held.
