Only a few minutes is enough to reach the peak of Palenica (722 metres above sea level) from the centre of Szczawnica. A modern four-seater chair lift takes all the tourists and patients, as well as skiers and snowboarders
to the station.
to the station.
What draws them here? Not only the amazing views of the snow-capped peaks of Pieniny with Sokolica and Trzy Korony, the Beskid Sądecki and the Tatra Mountains, the Grajcarek and Dunajec River Valleys shrouded with fog, but also one of the most interesting Polish pistes – the famous black Number One. Beautiful, steep, fast and wide – that’s what the skiers have to say about it. Those who have already mastered the art of skiing can face the 1000-metre-long piste with 250-metre gradient. Skiers who are slightly less skilled can go from the upper station on Palenica to the Szafranówka Glade, to the lower t-bar lift station. From here they can get to Szafranówka (742 metres above sea level), where they will be able to choose one of many slopes – easy and medium piste on the glade itself, or a long, 1800-metre-long downhill piste with medium difficulty to the Palenica lower chair lift station. The slopes are illuminated, groomed and artificially covered with snow. The resort also offers an equipment rental and service, a ski school and a spa in the vicinity! The Tatry Super SKI pass is valid at the station.
