If you want to find out about the mysteries of the Earth and geological curiosities and learn to identify rocks, you are in the right place. The Museum is a place of workshops, education, scientific work, and exhibitions where you can learn how geologically built Kraków and its surroundings are.

Everyone has an opportunity to learn about the geological map of the Kraków area. There are the Dragon's Den, quarries, hills and former waterfalls. They will learn about the structure of the Earth and understand processes taking place inside and on its surface. The Museum is situated in the Research Centre in Kraków, part of the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences based in Warsaw. The Geological Museum possesses extensive collections, sometimes amounting to thousands of specimens described in published works. These are also didactic and comparative collections. Moreover, one of Poland's largest collections of meteorites can be seen here. Visitors can visit a permanent exhibition – the Geological Structure of the Kraków Area, available since 1994, and temporary exhibitions.
