Kobylany Tourist region: Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska

One of the most beautiful valleys near Krakow. Picturesque, even fairy-tale like. It begins among rural buildings; it leads through almost completely forested slopes, and turns into a canyon at the end.

It is one of the most popular valleys that are part the Krakow Valleys Landscape Park). It is characterised by limestone rocks of unusual shapes, steep walls and jagged ridges. Here, there is also a clear tectonic threshold, up to 100 meters high, which is the border between the Olkusz Upland and the Krzeszowicki Ditch; its lofty offers wide views of the Beskids and the Tatra Mountains. The Kobylańska Valley is four kilometers long and in places it resembles a rock canyon. It is a climbing paradise, here many Polish mountaineers have trained. Commandos from “the Red Berrets” also trained here. The valley is also a favorite among cavers, paragliders and tourists seeking to rest. They are never disappointed. A hiking and biking trail leads through the valley, rich both in terms of landscape and nature.
