Kościelisko Tourist region: Tatry i Podhale

Legends say that the Mylna Cave was Janosik's hideout. This mysterious cave is on its western slope at the foot of Raptawicka Turnia, 130 metres above the bottom of the Kościeliska Valley.
It is one of the most interesting underground attractions in the Tatras. On top of that, it is shrouded in legends. Long known to mountaineers, miners and treasure hunters, the cave is open to tourists, but you need torches, because it is not illuminated. If you go there, you have to reckon that some sections must be traversed almost on your knees. It can be wet and damp at times, and the tangled corridors can confuse the visitor. Hence the name of the cave. Its corridors are about 1,300 metres long, developed on one level, tight in places with puddles at the bottom. In winter, ice infiltrates form in it. As the name of the cave suggests – it is easy to get lost in the cave and, therefore, should not be explored alone. The cave was explored and described in 1885 by Jan Gwalbert Pawlikowski, who gave it its name.
