During the Kościuszko Uprising the insurrection troops were gathered in the area of Prądnik.
According to oral tradition, Tadeusz Kościuszko himself rested here with his staff, and his favourite resting place was in the shade of a maple tree that grew in the manor's park, later called the Kościuszko's tree. Currently, the commander's visit to the manor is commemorated by its name – Kościuszko Inn.
