In this museum, you can learn about the traditions, culture and customs of the Sącz Lachs. They are a fusion of the culture of the Carpathian highlanders and the inhabitants of Kraków. The relatively little-known Museum of the Sącz Lachs is located in Podegrodzie, near Stary Sącz.

Named after Zofia and Stanisław Chrząstowski, the Museum of the Sącz Lachs is a branch of the District Museum in Nowy Sącz. It was created thanks to the founders' private collection in Podegrodzie, which is regarded as the capital of the Sącz Lachs. Thanks to the memorabilia collected here, visitors have the chance to learn about the traditional culture and crafts of the Lach region: agriculture, pottery, blacksmithing, fibre processing and weaving. Here, you can see what a wedding looked like in the past, how festivals were spent, and what people wore on festive and everyday occasions. Contemporary folk art and ritual arts associated with traditional family and annual festivals are also displayed here: wedding wands, Easter palms, harvest wreaths, nativity scenes, carol stars, turtledoves, and ponies. In the museum, visitors can see the festive costumes of Podegrodzie created at the turn of the 19th and 20th century – richly embroidered men's kaftans, gurmans, women's corsets, and visiting cards. The exhibition is complemented by an exhibition of archival photographs of the region by photographer Wojciech Migacz.

A separate thematic scope is presented by the exhibition 'Archaeology of Podegrodzie and the Environs of Nowy Sącz'.
