Pieniny National Park

The Pieniny National Park encompasses the most valuable areas of the Central Pieniny Mountains in terms of landscape and nature. It includes, above all, such places as the Three Crowns Massif, the Czorsztyn Pieniny, Pieninki, and the Dunajec Pass. The park is very attractive for tourists and has a dense network of trails. A great attraction is rafting down the Dunajec Pass. Pieniny National Park is one of the richest Polish national parks in terms of flora, boasting species not found anywhere else in Poland. The Pieniny Mountains are not only for adrenaline-seeking seasoned hikers, but also for walkers, school trips, and spa visitors, and are ideal for family outings. The area is home to castles, monasteries, and remnants of Lemko culture. The Pieniny Mountains offer the opportunity to spend time in nature and experience the still-living culture of the Pieniny Gorals, as well as improving one’s health not only during mountain excursions, but also thanks to the healing properties of the local mineral waters. It is an ideal place for relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The most famous places in the Pieniny are: Szczawnica, Krościenko upon Dunajec, Niedzica Castle, Czorsztyn and Červený Kláštor in Slovakia.
