Marduła-Gał Manor in Poronin
Monuments
ul. Kasprowicza 77, 34-520 Poronin
Tourist region: Tatry i Podhale
For the first time, Jan Kasprowicz came to Zakopane in 1891.
Fascinated by the beauty of that place and its unique atmosphere, he became a frequent visitor to Podhale and he stayed most frequently in Poronin at the Marduła-Gał home. Serenity and silence were conducive to the poet’s creativity. At that time, he wrote, inter alia, the poems included in the anthology “The Book of the Poor”. The house still stands at the street named in his memory, at the number 77, and on the building’s wall there is a commemorative plaque.
