Wadowice Railway Station
ul. marsz. J. Piłsudskiego 10, Wadowice
Tourist region: Beskid Mały i Makowski
Built in the 19th century, the train station is an exemplar of Galician railway architecture of the time. The building housed the travellers' quarters, the telephone exchange, and the station staff's living quarters. The beginning of the 20th century saw the expansion of the industrial district in the area around the station. The modernisation initiated in 2007 and completed in 2008 was necessary due to operational needs and current regulations and technical conditions. The Polish State Railways closed the ticket office in 2011 and handed over the station to the mayor of Wadowice for the benefit of the municipality.
