Museum Czernichów Główny Station Czernichów
ul. Wiślana 3, 32-070 Czernichów
Tourist region: Kraków i okolice
Here the love of railways and the passion for collecting are combined. The Museum Czernichów Główny Station Czernichów was created by Robert Stefaniuk, who saved the historic rolling stock from destruction. The trip is not only for lovers of wagons, locomotives and travel.
The Czernichów Main Museum station takes railroad passengers on a sentimental journey. Among other things, you will find historic carriages, diesel locomotives, and railway infrastructure: shaped semaphores, warning and shunting discs, and a water tower for replenishing the water used for steam in steam locomotives. The whole area was arranged in a beautiful garden, with great attention to detail and style. The owner is happy to give tours of the museum and present the exhibits, talking about their fate and purpose. The collected rolling stock provides a look at the history of narrow-gauge railways in Poland since the 1940s. The important thing is that it is a living museum; you can step into the cabs of the locomotives, run some of them, listen to the sound when their engines are running, and touch living history. It also brings together many railway-related exhibits from around the world. After the tour, you can enjoy a ride on a draisine and relax with an aromatic coffee, and the youngest visitors will find plenty of additional activities. The museum is located 25 kilometres from Kraków, just off the Vistula Cycle Route.
